Design Story
Our main aim is to teach people new to the area both the importance of separating trash, lowering daily waste and connecting to your community. SFSU is undergoing a a transition from a commuter school to a campus with vibrant life and a cohesive community. We want to build a sustainable community through interactive art instillation (wish tree) and an active game, basket bottle, which teaches people how to sort their trash properly in a fun and competitive way
Parking Day Design Charette-- 9. 3.14
We were able to synthesize all of our ideas into one inclusive and interactive parking day instillation. Our original ideas were to have game based learning, recycled hang out areas and a growing art instillation. Our final idea came to be known as an everGreen recycled tree-- also known as a wishing tree make out of recyclable trash, which people can come and contribute to and curate as a community. Our theme of SFSU becoming a sustainable community consists of becoming a more inclusive community as people, and more sustainable as humans.
